“Book Forms in the period of Modern Age” – first lecture of O.R. Khromov, Doctor of Art Studies.
On February, 13th Russian State Art Library opened a course of lectures dedicated to the history of book and book illustration in the Modern Age given by Oleg Khromov, Doctor of Art Studies, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts,.
The first – introductory - lecture was dedicated to general issues concerning various book forms during the Modern Age (handwritten, handwritten and engraved, lithographic, fully engraved, typographical, etc): their peculiarities and purpose, origin, functionality, compatibility of various forms in one publication.
The next lecture is taking place on February, 20th and will be dedicated to various types of paper and methods of their identification.
